Welcome

Nestled amongst the trees at the foot of Glenforsa lies the self catering cottage known as The Old Stables. The Old Stables is a two bedroom wooden holiday cottage that gives a real home-from-home environment where everyone including children, walkers, climbers, cyclists and dogs are welcome.

The Old Stables self catering cottage welcomes visitors all year round to its most comfortable surroundings.

Centrally located, Glenforsa and its river lies across the middle of the Isle of Mull with its mouth lying on the sheltered east coast. The Old Stables lies less than 1 minutes walk from the spectacular beach, with its far reaching views up and down the Sound of Mull and only a couple of minutes walk from the entrance to the Glen itself with the mountain of Ben Talaidh rising away in the west.

Getting to The Old Stables is very easy, it lies just 10 miles north from the main port of Craignure or just 6 miles from the Fishnish ferry, or a 1 minute walk from the private airstrip at Glenforsa.

The owners have travelled extensively and are very experienced in what self catering accommodation can really be like. Their ethos of keeping it simple, homely and comfortable has been used throughout to ensure that your stay here is exactly what you would want.

Simple - for example pricing - there are no hidden extras like linen hire, or if you want to bring your dog.

Homely - there is a selection of relevant guidebooks, maps, plus we supply, as standard, those things that you may have difficulty bringing like a highchair, and everything works!

Comfortable - all the furnishings have been selected to ensure they are comfortable, plus the layout of the cottage has been thought about, so there is a full sized bath, a convenient fire, plus the kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Outside there is a good sized garden where there is a barbecue and outside seating, again all that you would expect from a home-from-home.

The surroundings around the Old Stables are peaceful, there is the quiet beach, offering the chance to catch a glimpse of the Sea Eagle, or maybe an otter, plus numerous other sea birds and of course in the glen there are sheep, Red Deer and highland cows.

The surroundings are also very convenient, for example if you don't feel like cooking, there is the Glenforsa hotel nearby that offers a choice of meals, or just five minutes along the road is the village of Salen that has a very good family friendly Italian restaurant.
